The BMW X5’s base engine is a 3.0-liter turbo-6 making 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, matched to an 8-speed automatic with RWD or AWD.
The 2018 Levante is 197.0 inches long versus 193.2 for the X5. Levante also has a longer wheelbase, 118.3 vs 115.5 inches. Levante is 1.1 inches taller than the X5. More pluses: The Maserati has a smaller turning diameter (38.4 vs 41.7 feet).
The Maserati has an available Skyhook suspension for optimal driving in various conditions on the road or track. The GranLusso and GranSport trim levels were introduced for 2018. Also new for 2018 are lane keeping assist, electric power steering, automatic lane centering, and the Nerissimo appearance package with black window surrounds, black paint, black wheels and dark chrome trim. Levante S features a luxurious full-leather interior, blind-spot monitoring, 19-inch wheels, remote start, a panoramic sunroof and rear parking sensors.
