What’s New for the 2018 Maserati GranTurismo Sport?
The breathtaking Maserati GranTurismo has been redesigned for 2018, and is available in Sport and MC models. The GranTurismo is pure Italian excitement with exhilarating performance inspired from racetrack competition. Yet the Sport is also a wonderfully comfortable daily driver that is both beautiful to look at and a source of never-ending pride.
The sole engine this year is a 4.7-liter V8 that delivers 454 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque, good for a redline of 7,500 rpm. For 2018, the only transmission is a six-speed ZF automatic with paddle shifters, as the automated-manual has been dropped. The transmission drives the rear wheel through a limited-slip differential. The wheels are located by control arms with two-mode active dampers and are surrounded by new Pirelli P ZERO™ tires. The GranTurismo Sport goes from 0 to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds and hits a top speed of 185 mph.
The 2018 restyling begins at the new front end with new front spoiler, side skirts, slots, and its deeply cut oval front grille featuring the chrome and red Maserati Trident. The GranTurismo Sport has new trim for the sharply angled bi-xenon headlights that feature Adaptive Light Control. The side profile is reminiscent of the historic “birdcage” design, with front triple air-vent apertures and triangular C-pillars that proudly display the Saetta logo. New paint colors include Blu Assoluto, Grigio Pietra, Rosso Italiano, Rosso Magma and Blu Inchiostro. The GranTurismo four-seat interior features soft Poltrona Frau leather and Alcantara trim, a new dashboard and clock, dark and eco chrome detailing, and the 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The latest technology incorporated into the Maserati Stability Program enhance the car’s safety. The program uses a collection of sensors to continually monitor performance data to optimize handling and traction through Stability Control and Traction Control. The 2018 GranTurismo adds a new rear parking camera.
